Aquarius

BORN IN AQUARIUS: Aquarians are a mixed bag. You can be totally "far out" - immersed in metaphysics or an astronaut in space. Then, too, you can be too cerebral and above it all, and, to your way of mind, have logical explanations why all this metaphysical 'nonsense' your brother Aquarians dabble in has no scientific basis at all.

As an Aquarian, you like to be unique and different from everyone around you. You like to hang loose, and eschew rules and regulations....but let too much change come in and you run for cover like your Taurus compatriot, because, after all, you are a fixed sign. It's ok if you initiate change; but you don't like it coming from an outside source.

Aquarians tend to love humanity .... but don't care for people that much. One Aquarian lady was asked what's the first thing she does when entering a party...."Park myself near the door" she replied. So, if she doesn't like what is going on, she can just slip out without having to make a grand departure.

"Unpredictable", then, is quite appropro for you. An octogenarian Aquarian lady I knew was always keen to point out, "how can one predict what an Aquarian will do?" Just as we're beginning to figure out what Uranus energy does, it gets bored and shows us a new wrinkle.

So, even though it really can't be done, this Aquarius rising person (me) will attempt to describe what's going on in the year ahead for Aquarius!

Chinese Animal: Dog

Chinese Element: Fire

Chinese Meridian: Circulation-Sex
Pericardium

Astrological Symbol: Water Bearer

Rules: Circulation, Shins, ankles

Planet: Uranus

Quality: Fixed

Gender: Masculine

Element: Air

House: 11th

2010 ....and the winds of change are brewing. In 1966, Uranus moved in to conjunct Pluto. It was a time of militant change. There were protests against the Vietnam war. There was the sexual revolution, where it was ok for non committed sex and using sex for casual recreation, rather than strict procreation....why lots of couples slept in twin beds before then! Uranus is the awakener, it showed us what those in power were up to and vowed to change it. It's been 44 years, and in 2012 Uranus will make its first hard angle to Pluto.....squaring Pluto from Aries to Capricorn. We're seeing it already as it builds to a peak. Where Gays and Lesbians started to come out of the closet in the 60's - Uranus shines light on things hidden - now we are seeing the acceptance of gay marriage, and there will be a push to have that accepted in the country...and the world.

As Saturn opposes Uranus in the sky right now, we see the polarization as they both square Pluto. Saturn is the Conservatives and Uranus is the Progressives and we are poles apart in this opposition. Pluto is the seat of power between them....the Authoritarian Plutonians and social dominators who are using both sides for their own ends. As Saturn moves on and Uranus moves in to square Pluto, we'll see in the next couple of years the exposing of that which has been in the dark.

In the 60's the hue and cry was "don't trust anyone over 30"....At 30 we used to be middle aged, segued into sensible shoes and conservative clothes....30 is the new 20 so we can't say that anymore, but there will be a rising rebellion against 'the establishment'. However, where those in power used to play behind the scenes, nowadays they don't seem to care anymore. They are out there 'in your face' about anything that doesn't agree with their dogma.....It's going to be a bumpy ride!

2010 - a number 3 year in numerology...What we can expect?...Best recommendation for the year is... be sure your seat belt is fastened.  The year (2010) will be the most progressive and explosive event horizon to surface within the past 49 years.  Why? Well it's because the year (2010) adds up to the number (3) which is the premier number of new growth, rebirth and personal recreation, as well as an energy that will promote massive political, financial, military and societal upheaval and renewal.

As the world emerges from the current recession, our personal lives will no longer adhere to or be influenced by the old governmental rules and usual life constructs.  Life will be exploding and accelerating at blinding speed into a new paradigm of thought and social conduct.  The year (2010) is not just another year, but is the dynamic springboard to (2012) when life as you know it, will be completely and totally transformed.    See Joe Ivory's take on how the year will pertain to you by clicking here.

Mercury
Mercury retrogrades 4 times this year:

December 26, 2009 - January 15th: Capricorn
April 17th - May 11th: Taurus
August 20-September 12th: December 10th - December 29th: Sag/Capricorn

Mercury retrogrades 4 times this year. We've moved out of Air signs and into Earth signs....that will be a relief for all computer devotees who see their precious computers run amuk when Mercury retros in an air sign. Doesn't mean we won't have computer glitches, but not to the extent when they are in air.

Mercury retrograde (any retrograde) can be likened to two trains on parallel tracks going at the same speed. When one starts to move faster, the other one 'seems' to be going backwards.

Pluto starts at 3 degrees of Capricorn; retrogrades on April 6th at 5 degrees - then goes direct on September 14th at 2 degrees, and ends the year at 5 degrees.

Neptune begins the year at 24 degrees of Aquarius, retrogrades on May 31st at 28 degrees, and goes direct on November 7th at 26 degrees and is still at 26 at the end of the year.

Uranus starts at 23 degrees of Pisces, enters Aries on May 27th, goes retrograde on July 5th, at 0 Aries, retrogrades back into Pisces on August 14th, goes direct on December 6th at 26 degrees of Pisces, and ends the year at 26 degrees.

Saturn commences at 4 degrees of Libra, goes retro on January 13th at 4 degrees, retros back into Virgo on April 7th, goes Direct on May 30th, enters back into Libra on July 21st, and ends the year at 16 of Libra.

Jupiter starts the year at 26 degrees of Aquarius, goes in to Pisces on January 18th, enters Aries on June 6th, retrogrades on July 23rd at 3 degrees, and retros into Pisces on September 9th, goes direct on November 18th at 23 degrees and ends the year at 26 of Pisces.

January solar eclipse THE ECLIPSES

(Disregard the house placements - they'll change due to location)

The first eclipse this year occurs on January 15 2010 at 2:10 AM EST in Washington D.C. at 25 degrees of Capricorn..... Those of you born at the end of Capricorn will feel it most strongly. Along side of it is Venus, so it has the potential of giving this period a more magnetic feeling. But, It forms a major YOD from Capricorn to Uranus in Pisces, with Neptune/Jupiter/Chiron in Aquarius, the trigger in between, which shoots the energy up to Leo...and Mars. It's a little to the right of the power point, but it's in the neighborhood.....and Mars doesn't like to be ignored so it will probably have something to say about this whole YOD position. Mars can kick you in the butt to do something precipitously...that can be good or bad, depending. The eclipse in Capricorn puts the Saturnian sign on the front burner. Where it is in your chart will show the center of interest for the coming year. Are you torn between what is old and tranditional and what is new and enticing? Look to where Leo is in your chart for the answer.

Jupiter is the ruler of politics, and being close to Neptune, we've seen the prevaricating and outright lies bent on pulling the wool over our eyes. On it's right is Uranus, "The Awakener" and ruler of the progressives. Opposite is Saturn, ruler of the conservatives, with Pluto on the left of the eclipse. The Yod points at Leo, and President Obama is a Leo, so he's getting the thrust of the energy. But where the "finger of God" points shows where "the answer" is....so he should get thru this period ok if a bit bumpy at the outset. Now that Jupiter is moving off of Neptune with this eclipse, we'll start to cull the wheat from the chaff and see things more clearly. By the second eclipse, Jupiter will meet up with Uranus which should prove beneficial to progressives.

Pluto and Mercury are together at the beginning of Capricorn, being squared by Saturn. Communication now is very judgemental, critical, and manipulative. Those in power think nothing of manipulating words for their own ends. Listen between the lines for the truth in the words. You are pressured to do the will of others. Think for yourself. If you are the power dominator, look to your conscience as your guide. ...if you have one. As Serena Williams had printed on her tshirt at the U.S. Open this year, something about "to get to dynasty, you have to go thru nasty". Is it that important to you?

The eclipse occurs in the Year of the Tiger, the month of the Rooster, the hour of the Ox and the minute of the Monkey . The Tiger is the one true wild, instinctual animal of the Chinese Zodiac. With it we can get in touch with our traumas of the past, and once again fill our lungs with pride. With the month of the Rooster, we seek to move out of our fears and into a place of peace. With the fear mongers spewing their insidious garbage, it will be hard to find the truth. What's that old saying, when the child sees a mountain of manure and gleefully starts to dig...."With all this poop, there's got to be a pony in here someplace". It's going to be hard to find the pony and see the truth in what is deceminated. Sometimes poop is just poop....and the pony of truth has long gone. The eclipse occurring in the hours of the Ox, we will be looking for someone to take care of us......and the wrong person might just step up for that 'assignment'. Be careful whom you follow. Don't be a lemming being drawn to the cliff....think for yourself. The eclipse at the time of the Monkey cautions us to have faith and trust and not trying to control things with a vice like grip. Let it go!

We see the result of the eclipse 90 days later, or on or around April 15th, 2010.

A Yod is two or more planets 60 degrees apart, give or take, and shoots its energy to the other side of the chart, 150 degrees from each planet and converges as a power point. When there is a planet or more 30 degrees between the two, it/they become the trigger, or an arrow, that shoots the energy to its opposite on the other side. IE, the trigger opposes the point while the two sextiled planets inconjunct it from each side. Here we have the trancendent planets, Neptune and Uranus, in their opposite signs, trying to break the finiteness of Capricorn....trying to move it's staid, practical, no nonsense energy into the new millennium. The outlet is in Leo. It's called a "Finger of God" aspect because it's as if its pointing to 'the answer'. Not going to give it to you on a silver platter, but the answer is in the Leo part of your chart if you'll but look.

For you, Aquarius, the eclipse is in your 12th house of your subconscious, mate's job, stepfather, and 'behind the scenes'. Any or all of these can be on the front burner at this time. Your normal left brain personality is now more open to explore the nebulous right brain and its color, visualization, dreams, and maybe even psychicness. Jupiter is in your first house this year for luck and growth. Problem is it's in the shadow of Neptune/Chiron which tends to dilute it. One it gets out from under you'll see more luck express itself. Uranus is in your 2nd house of money to spring a few more bucks your way. The 'anser' is in the 7th house of mate, second child, mom's mom or dad's dad.

July solar eclipse The second eclipse occurs on July 11, 2010 at 3:41 pm, EDT in Washngton, D.C. The sun and moon are at 19 degrees of Cancer. those of you born in the middle of the sign will feel this most acutely. You're on the front burner now, it's your six month period to shine. How will you use this time?

Fortunately, Jupiter has left the shadows of Neptune/Chiron and has moved to a conjunction with Uranus. Luck abounds when the two planets are together. This time it's in Aries. The only downer is that Saturn is still opposing Uranus and the two meet up twice in 2010....The polarization of the country and the world between the conservatives and progressives will be around for awhile longer. Last year, Jupiter and Neptune were together as well as the first eclipse. Jupiter is politics and dogma and Neptune is spindoctoring so we've seen spindoctoring turned into polarized ideologies.

So, Jupiter moves into conjunct Uranus, which should mean progressives start to see things move to their way of thinking, but they are still T squared (the midpoint of the opposition) by Pluto. Pluto is a bit ahead, but Saturn retrograded away from it and now is making another pass at the square aspect. Uranus continues its trek to reach the square point on the other side in 2012. Mars is at 19 degrees of Virgo, in a sextile to the eclipse. Where the larger YOD in January pointed to Leo, this smaller Yod will point to Aquarius as the 'answer'. Yet, Mars is involved each time. Interesting to note that the asteroid Pallas is behind the ascendant in each chart. Pallas is pure logical, linear, masculine, left brain thought, which is "slightly" (like poles away from) its Scorpio residency. Logic and emotion can't exist in the same moment, so Pallas in Scorpio at this eclipse can see some mental issues coming to the fore.

It's good that the eclipse is in the middle of Cancer, but as it is, there's almost a grand cross, with Saturn heading back to Libra, Pluto in Capricorn and Uranus/Jupiter in Aries. The cardinal signs are all being activated in some way at the same time. Cardinal houses are goal oriented and initiators. A lot is going to get started during this period. Cardinal signs get bored easily tho, so it will be the earth signs that are left to pick it up and finish it.

This eclipse occurs in the Year of the Tiger, the month of the Cat, the Hour of the Sheep and the minute of the Rooster. The Tiger is still roaming our subconscious, looking to help bring up traumas from the past for heaing and resolution. The Tiger is a mental/metal archetype so our nerves can be on edge, emotioinally or physically. The fact that the eclipse is in the month of the Cat from my perspective, it enhances the metal faculty. Nerves are sharp and neuroses come to the fore. The eclipse occuring at the time of the Sheep, cautions us to be wary of 'wolves in sheep's clothing'. The Rooster has shifted positions from the animal for the month to the animal for the minute. Our fears still abound and we need to skip the news and the newspapers for awhile so as not to get plummeted with all this fear oriented 'objective' news.

For you, Aquarius, the eclipse is in your 6th house of work, health and service. You see the sun shine on your efforts. Luck is expressed thruJupiter/Uranus in your 3rd house of communications....maybe you can get that book published now, or in other ways see the way you communicate work for you. Saturn moves into the 9th where you might travel for work, but won't feel like doing anything frivolously and Pluto moves into hiding into the 12th, where it can work for your mate's job. The 12th is the house of stepfather as well.

We see the results of this activity 90 days from the eclipse; so watch for action on or around October 11th.

MAJOR TRANSITS in 2010

Saturn squares Pluto, January 31st, and August 21st,
     Libra to Capricorn
Jupiter inconjuncts Saturn February 5th,
     Pisces to Libra
Jupiter sextiles Pluto, February 6th,
      Pisces to Capricorn
Uranus quincunx Neptune - April 13th
      Pisces to Aquarius
Saturn opposes Uranus, April 26th and July 26th
Virgo to Pisces and Libra to Aries
Saturn inconjuncts Neptune, May 2nd, Virgo to Aquarius
Jupiter opposes Saturn, May 23rd and August 16th
     Aries to Libra
Jupiter Conjuncts Uranus, June 8th in Aries and September 19th, and      January 4, 2011 in Pisces

Jupiter squares Pluto, July 25th, August 3rd
     Aries to Cap

The three most prominent aspects this year are Saturn squaring Pluto and opposing Uranus, and Jupiter moving away from Neptune and getting on the Uranus bandwagon, in Aries first, with a retro into Pisces.

Saturn opposes Uranus twice more, once in Pisces and once in Aries. Those who think within the box are not going to cotton to people who think outside the box....and so far outside the box most of us can't comprehend the genius (sort of like "Charlie (David Krumholtz) " on "Numb3rs"). The finiteness of Saturn wants to keep Uranus energy contained, and we know what happens then....Uranus energy is like a stick of unstable dynamite when it gets boxed in. Saturn/Uranus may have been more subtle in Pisces, but the last lash of the dragon's tail in Aries is bound to make that dynamite explode, finally filled up with the containment it's add to put up with for two years.

Saturn squares Pluto from Libra to Capricorn. It did so in November of 2009, and they set each other off twice more, January 31st and August 21st. Saturn and Pluto last met up opposing each other in 2001, now we see results from the square on 'the other side'. It depends on what planets they aspect in your life how intense it may or may not be. Pluto is all about domination and manipulation and the bully, while Saturn is rules and regulations and minding our p's and q's; the judge and the jury.

Lucky Jupiter moves into to conjunct Uranus on June 8th in Aries and September 19th and January 4th of 2011 in Pisces as the two do a dosey-do and retro back to Pisces for a bit. A lucky stroke of luck can come 'out of the blue'. We'll need it, with the heaviness of Saturn and Pluto this year. The planets are ever balancing and bring us something to pick up our spirits when Saturn/Pluto sit on us.

For you Aquarius:

Saturn opposes Uranus from the 8th house of your mate's money/inheritance to the 2nd house of your money and talents. Your money is going thru some little earthquakes, not being stable and your mate is not in a mood to share. S/he may look disapprovingly at your generosity or seeming inability to keep your finances straight.....just when you despair, a chunk of money could come out of the blue...but you'll have to work for it. Then, the last time these two are at odds, they are in your 9th house of law, religion, higher education, sports....the preparatory house for the career up next, to the 3rd house of siblings and the one after you in particular, and neighbors, community, lower education etc. Words may be thrown about so count to 3 before you say the wrong thing.

When Saturn moved into Libra, it squared Pluto from the 9th house of travel, religion, politics, law, advertising, etc., to the 12th of behind the scenes, mate's job, stepfather. While the 9th is in a trine position to your sun, Pluto is moving in from behind. so it may be necessary to watch your back, as far as thinking everything is above board. There could be intrigue on your mate's job....or Pluto could be setting up a strong backup for when it goes into your first house of self in about 15 years.

The bright light this year is Jupiter and Uranus moving into Aries at the same time and conjuncting a few days later. This is your 3rd house of siblings, education, neighbors, etc., mentioned above. You could get a letter saying you've been accepted to the school of your choice (or your child has been accepted) or in some way get a sudden communique you hadn't expected. Then they retro back into Pisces for two meetings and provide a lucky break in your 2nd house of money; something delayed can come thru now.

THE OUTLYING PLANETS

Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are called the 'major' planets because they move slowly. They are the 'directors' of our play of life, and dictate the set and the scenery and outline the major direction of the play.....they would be the ones who write the 'bible' for soap operas - the long range direction of the stories. Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and Mars, on the other hand, are the "personal" planets: they are the actors who trigger the events, and can also be looked at as the 'daily writers' of our individual soap opera who write the daily events. So, in astrology, we look to the outlying planets and see what they are doing to get a sense where the action is going to take place.

Pluto Not a planet??? Puhleeeze! It has been decided by the astronomy community that Pluto is a dwarf planet...no, no, no....can't be a planet anymore. Hmmmmm, of all the planets I wouldn't mess with, it's Pluto. It has been discovered and designated a planet, and I wouldn't want to be the one to tell it to it's face!! It is generally conceded that before a planet is discovered, it's effects are subliminal; it's there, but isn't recognized as such. When it is discovered, it comes into light, into consciousness, and then we witness it in full bloom. Pluto was discovered in 1930, in Cancer, and then it moved thru Leo for 18 loooooong years, '39-57 (where the atom bomb was first exploded, the holocaust, etc., and we became the "I" generation), and then has been pretty generally a 12 year orbit in each sign since. Pluto is the planet who brings us our deepest transformations, puts us thru the fire, sees how much we can take. It creates diamonds out of our little clumps of coal, but in the process we are never the same.....and some astronomer is going to say it's no longer a planet? It would be nice by saying that, that the energy 'dwarfed' in size; that it no longer affected us so strongly and deeply, but I would think Pluto would just laugh at the thought, and shows us how much a planet "She" (because it is feminine energy) is. She's like Meryl Streep in "The Devil Wears Prada" - not anyone to mess with!!

(One way planets are tested for their validity is if they affect a void-of-course moon. A moon is void-of-course, when it aspects the last planet in line, and then has no other aspects til it enters the next sign. It was decided Chiron wasn't a planet for just this reason; Pluto certainly does. In fact, with Pluto at late degrees of Sag, and no other slow moving planet close, in 2006-2007, Pluto is the last planet the moon contacts nearly every month unless a fast moving planet slips in there periodically)

Pluto in Capricorn - January, 2008 - March, 2023.

After 12 years, Pluto has changed signs. It moved into Capricorn on January 25, 2008 at 6:37 pm PST; its ever challenging energy forcing us to grow; challenging us to stand up to it....reaping rewards of empowerment when we do and succeed. Pluto takes 15 years to go thru Capricorn. It's starting to slow down again. It took 18+ years for it to go thru Leo in the 40s and 50s, and then it sped up and went 12 years thru Virgo, Libra, Scorpio and Sag...now it's going to slow down again in it's orbit. Actually, the planets have orbits that are not completely circular, so that they appear to be slowing down and speeding up; it's just the phase of the orbit they are in which creates the effect.

Pluto and Saturn are the taskmasters of the zodiac. They don't let us get away with anything. Saturn manifests the emotional blocks which keep us from moving forward, which Pluto triggered in the past, which we sent underground, challenging us to grow, throwing us into the fires of transformation. When Pluto exits a sign, we are never the person who entered it....thru tempering and testing and transformation, we've grown, we're stronger, and we look at life from a far different perspective. The naive person who entered, emerges as a more empowered being....at least that's the potential. This period will be best for the earth signs. Pluto conjuncts planets in Capricorn, which will test but eventually bring empowerment for Caps....trine Taurus and Virgo, so all that they have endured so far will reap some rewards. Air signs find Pluto in their money houses, which can see a drop initially, but then a straight building up afterwards. Water signs are involved in communication and relationships, while Fire signs deal with family and mate. It's the cardinal grand cross, of Aries, Cancer and Libra - with Capricorn - who are going to have transformative changes in their lives. (Remember: if you are born at 20 degrees or later of any given sign, or rising, synthesize it with the house positions of the next sign, i.e., if you're a Libra, for instance, you'll still have some time with the house positions, but you're closer to Scorpio's house positions, so include them in your deliberations.)

For you, Aquarius, Pluto spent 12 years in your 11th house, which is the ruling house for Aquarius. This is the house of mass communication. If you were inclined you found yourself on the national or worldly scenes, deciminating information, and the masses paid attention. It's the money house of the career/dad, and you could have found yourself making much bucks from your career, or getting bucks from dad. You drew in potentially powerful friends with whom you were tested and had to grow. You had a 24 year reign between Pluto in the 10th and 11th, ascending to the throne and epitome of your chart at the top, and then like a sports figure, getting the money for the years you toiled without as much money rising to the top. Now, Pluto moves into the 12th house. You begin to unwind, you get off center stage and allow others to continue on. You can keep your finger in, but you won't be doing things on as large a scale. You're moving into a period where you'll be working behind the scenes, delving into the mysteries of life, looking for answers. The 12th has been called the house of 'hidden enemies'.....which are usually the bugaboos of our mind; those subconscious energies which sabotage us. Now you can bring those up from the depths and bring them into the light. The 12th is the 6th house of your mate, so s/he can get into the midst of a power play which will test your mate's mettle.

Pluto goes retrograde on April 6th and goes direct on September 14th.

NEPTUNE - in Aquarius - 1998-2012

Neptune is now in Aquarius. Combined with Uranus, it's been a bumpy ride the last 8-15 years. There have been upsets and jobs lost, as you've been encouraged to get out of the rat race and pursue more personal goals. The nebulousness of Neptune, has found carving a niche for yourself rather difficult. Now that it has followed Uranus into Aquarius (as Uranus moves into Pisces), the ride should be a little easier, as the energy is more to Nep's liking....Aquarius is a transcendant sign of higher vision much as its own sign, Pisces.

For you, Aquarius, In your 1st house, life is going to seem dreamier in many ways, as you look to a higher authority to guide your life. Yet it can also seem very harsh, as you look around you and the everyday mundane world doesn't live up to your vision. You can move on from this cycle, with a much higher expectation of what life is suppose to be. Neptune encourages you to look into a more spiritual life; to get your head out of those science books, and try some poetry or fiction instead of your prediliction for non fiction, solid facts. Learn to trust. Neptune is a psychic planet, and where you have higher intuition on a linear level with Uranus as your ruling planet, now you think in a right brained, wholistic fashion, seeing the totality rather than the pieces. It may seem frightening for you who have been sequential all your life, but Uranus ( left brain) is in Pisces (right brain) and Neptune (right brain) is in Aquarius (left brain) , so they can synthesize the two ways of thinking and bring you in to a whole new way of seeing the world.

Neptune goes retrograde on May 31st, and goes direct on November 7th.

URANUS - In Pisces - 2003-2011 | in Aries - 2010-2018

Uranus - On March 11, 2003, Uranus moved into Pisces after 8 years in Aquarius. It then retro'ed back to Aquarius on Sept. 16th, 2003, and then back to Pisces by Dec. 31st to continue on it's way thru Pisces for the next 7+ years. Uranus rules Aquarius, which is an air sign, and Pisces, of course, is water. Water and air don't work too well together. Just as Uranus got 'stuck' in Capricorn, it dives into the unknown areas of emotion, and gets confused....that objective, logical air quality doesn't understand emotion, ala "Mr. Spock" and "Data" of Star Trek. Triggering emotional buttons can have Uranus moving into uncharted areas, and acting inappropriately, even for itself. As a friend of mine, the late actress June Ellis (herself an Aquarian) once said, "How can you predict Uranus, when it is unpredictable?" When Uranus enters a new house (new arena of life, more specifically) it throws on the lights, and exposes all that is in that 'room' to be be cleaned out, pulling the rug out from under as it goes, forcing you to move forward in new directions.

Uranus in Aries chart In 2010, Uranus enters Aries for a brief stint, on May 27th - then goes Rx on July 5th, and Rx back into Pisces on August 14th. It goes direct on December 6th in Pisces, and then moves into Aries for the balance of it's 8 year stay on March 12, 2011.

Aries likes to be first, and Uranus is the genius inventor of the zodiac, so we can see many Arians moving us into a far reaching computerized future. The last time this happened was 1927-1935, when Neptune dumped us into a depression, so Uranus didn't help. This is bound to be a unique time in history, no matter how you look at it....think of Mars and Uranus together....short tempers, angry exchanges, anger welling up inside til it explodes. On the positive side, it will be a time of opening the world up to new innovations and inventions, as Aries gets kicked in the pants by Uranus, and if Aries energy has been backed up, this will cause it to move forward dynamically again. Certainly, as we've recently seen people packing guns at political events, the push for gun toting freedoms will clash with the eclectic energy of Uranus. Uranus is in the first house in the United States' chart and it certainly is all about "bombs bursting in air" and fighting for individuality and freedoms, yet there is a higher octave of Uranus that is purely cerebral and doesn't like guns....the two extremes will volly for position. Fortunately, as Uranus goes into Aries, it meets up with Jupiter a scant week or so later, so we have the two in Aries for part of the year, adding luck and expansion to the ornery two energies.

Aquarians found Uranus shaking up the 2nd house of money and talents. There was sudden ups and downs in the money sphere. You could have received a raise or a new job out of the blue, or if you have money it could have suddenly take a dip, a la the dot.com collapse. Hope you were prudent where you put your money during this time, to mitigate any circumstances. Aquarians and Pisceans are prone to help their fellow man, and can get caught up in sharing the wealth to help others. This is fine, as long as your mortgage is met and the kids are fed.

When Uranus moves into Aries in May, it will be your 3rd house of communication, short trips, siblings in general and the first one after you in particular, as well as lower education, like going to the kid's school and standing up for them. It's also about neighbors and community, so you might get involved in local politics. This is another good time in life to keep a micro recorder on you at all times to record the ideas that suddenly are revealed to you. Uranus is your planet, and in the 3rd house, is sure to produce some ideas that are worth money to you. It's what you do with them that will see how it goes. Bring in an earth sign - Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn - to help you manifest them.

Uranus goes retrograde on July 5th, retroes back into Piscs on August 14th, and goes direct on December 6th.

SATURN - Enters Libra 10/30/2009 til 10/6/2012.

Saturn moved into Libra at the end of October in 2009. Libra is all about beauty for beauty's sake, but now, Librans become more practical. They don't want to spend just to spend, and in general, pull back on the 'disposable income' and start to save for something solid and practical that serves a purpose as well as being decorative. Saturn here sobers Librans, makes them stop and take stock in what has transpired in the past few years. Librans like to get along and defer to other signs, but now, their backbone stiffens and they realize they need to be more assertive.

Aquarius and Gemini will benefit the most from this transit, since Libra trines their sun signs. Saturn is in the 9th house for Aquarians, making gains in education, and taking solid steps to be ready for their career when Saturn goes into Scorpio. Geminis find they can bring in a mate who's solid, secure and enduring....but maybe a bit conservative and not too exciting. Capricorns, Aries and Cancers will be the ones tested with this energy, being in the square position. Keep your nose to the grindstone and don't try to grandstand, and you have a better opportunity to get thru it on a higher level. Virgos and Scorpios, Pisces and Taurus will feel 'adjustments' taking place ,as Saturn quincunx' (30 degrees) and inconjuncts (150 degrees) their signs. That leaves Leo and Sag in a sextile position to Libra, which will create 2 YODs pointing to Pisces and Taurus, respectively. When Saturn tests, your "answers" are in those houses....but it's up to you to figure it out.

For you, Aquarius, with Saturn now in Libra,in your 9th house of 2nd husband, 3rd child, travel, religion, politics, advertising, higher education. Any or all of these can come up for review and because it's in a trine position, altho Saturn will test you as it does all of us, it's in an harmonious aspect to your sun sign, so you have the opportunity to learn the lessons and manifest something positive from it. If you travel, it will probably be for business or in some way be practical. You realize that Saturn is about to go into your 10th house of career in a couple of years so you want to do all you can to materialize educational goals, so you'll be ready when the time comes to push for that promotion.

Saturn commences at 4 degrees of Libra, goes retro on January 13th at 4 degrees, retros back into Virgo on April 7th, goes Direct on May 30th, goes back into Libra on July 21st, and ends the year at 16 of Libra.

JUPITER in Aquarius: January 6, 2009 - January 18, 2010 | in Pisces January 18, 2010 - January 22, 2011

Jupiter, planet of luck and growth finishes up in Aquarius and moves into Pisces, where it will zoom thru the sign and slip into Aries on June 6th and then conjunct Uranus on June 8th...moves on til it retros on July 23rd. It goes back into Pisces on Sept 9th and stays in Pisces til January of 2011. Jupiter is a yearly transit that bucks up whatever house it moves thru; the problem is you tend to think that the luck that comes your way is going to stay, and unless you do something concrete, when Jupiter moves to the next sign, so does the luck. The key is to be like some salesmen - don't stay with one thing and try to make it work; go with whatever is 'selling' this year. After all, there is a pattern to this whole thing called life.

There is a negative side to Jupiter. While it is luck, it is also expansion, and that can be the 'expansion' of our waistline or seeing the forest for the trees, but Jupiter is dogmatic - while it brings luck, it also can bring an arrogant air and a blind denial of anything it doesn't like. The main thing Jupiter does this year is to finally leave the combo of Neptune/Chiron and by March we'll be able to delineate one from another, and then in June, Jupiter conjuncts Uranus! Yeah! Finally...clarity!...and some good fortune thrown in to boot! Being with Neptune for most of last year and into 2010, the expansion-without-consideration of Jupiter to the nebulousness of Neptune had us thinking that nothing could go wrong...and after all, Jupiter is also politics and Neptune is oil...and also spindoctoring. The mirage confused the whole health care reform issue....Jupiter's dogma joined with Neptune's spin doctoring creating a sow's ear out of a silk purse.

Jupiter in Pisces will be best for water signs, for it will conjunct Pisces, of course, and trine the other two; Cancer and Scorpio. Opportunities will start to open up and water signs will reap the rewards. Earth signs, Taurus and Capricorn find Jupiter sextiling, creating Yods to Libra and Leo respectively , while Virgo will find their mate bringing their luck home, or lucky in finding a new relationship. Air signs can use Jupiter to their advantage, but there are some adjustments to make. Fire signs: Aries, Sag and Leo too, will find they have to use the luck that pops up to make some changes.

For you, Aquarius, Jupiter is in your 2nd house of money. Yay! Jupiter of luck and the 2nd house of money, can't beat that. Your financial prospects are much brighter, but don't over spend...Jupiter only stays in a sign about a year....save some too. Jupiter enters Aries for a month and a half in June-July, you'll start to see what you can do in your neighborhood or the school yard. Mark June 8th on your calendar for Jupiter to meet up with Uranus in Aries!

Jupiter enters Pisces on January 18th, enters Aries on June 6th, retrogrades on July 23rd, retros back into Pisces on Sept 9th, goes Direct on November 18th, Enters Aries again Jan 22nd 2011, and goes into Taurus, June 4, 2011.
