No matter how we huff and puff, no matter all the macinations and gutter politics, no matter that the candidates spend billions of dollars to beat the other, each president occupies a certain house in the U.S. chart, and the person who embodies that energy is going to win......regardless. Everything in astrology goes in cycles. We have only to look back at history to see what is in store for the future. Who will be the next president?....well, let's look back..... In the previous election, we could have examined the terms of Herbert Hoover and Richard Nixon to see what would be in store for George W Bush. And, indeed, there have been many, many references to how the Bush administration was like Nixon's. Now, as his tenure ends, we find that he has many indeces like Hoover, who had the 1929 depression happen on Wall St on his watch. We may think GWB stole the election, but in truth, Al Gore's energy just wasn't what that presidential house required....it was close, because their charts were so close in makeup, but GWB actually filled out the bill. So to whom do we look now, to see what we can expect? Initially, we can look to John Adams, our second president. He was born on October 30, 1735, a Scorpio. As Tom Hanks accepted his Emmy for his mini series on HBO, he alluded to all the chicanery that went on in that election, and wryly commented that 'isn't it great that we've come so far'. When Washington decided not to run for reelection, Adams had already decided to run, but knew he would be subjected to insults and contempt. An aspect that would be good today, is that neither Adams nor his opponent, Thomas Jefferson, took part in the election. Their surrogates engaged in a very nasty exchange. Adams was attack for being aloof. This was the first real two party election. Adams graduated from Harvard, and was a constitutional lawyer. Adams had to contend with Alexander Hamilton's conniving and backhanded dealings. As his term was expiring he appointed a series of judges who were nicknamed "Midnight Judges" because they were appointed just before Adams left office. Next, is Teddy Roosevelt. He was born on October 27, 1858, another Scorpio. He was known as the nation's fist environmentalist, setting aside millions of acres for national forests, water reserves and wildlife refuges. He believed in equal education for women, if not equal rights. Roosevelt was a Republican, but party affililation does not seem to be crucial here; it is the personality and energy of the man. Then we look at Franklin Delano Roosevelt. He was an Aquarian, born on January 30, 1882. After the 1929 depression occurried on Herbert Hoover's watch, FDR came into office. He guided the country thru its greatest domestic crisis, some say, and its greatest foreign crisis with WWII. He took office with the country mired in a debilitating economic depression. With his economic and social programs known as the "New Deal", he helped bring about national recovery. He was married to Eleanor, who was a strong woman in herself, and did many wonderful things while first lady. In politics, FDR and the democrats built a power base that dominated until the late 60's. And then we have Gerald Ford, a Cancer, born on July 14, 1913, who assumed office when Nixon was driven from office. His wife, Betty was one of the first outspoken first ladies, who talked about premarital sex and the Equal Rights Amendent. This was in sharp contrast to other first ladies, particularly Nixon's wife, Pat. We could liken Pat Nixon to Laura Bush, who basically has stayed in the background, altho just because of the day and age, Laura had more input than Mrs. Nixon. If we look at it from the Chinese chart, Bush's presidency is shown in the Triple Warmer/Boar section of the U.S. chart. The Boar in the wild is known to be self destructive. A Boar person hates to be humiliated and ridiculed...something Bush has had to get used to, I guess. The Boar doubts until he has taken everything into consideration and has come to a place of certainty. Boars tend to be pessimists and see the glass half empty. They need to be around positive people. Bill Clinton showed up in the Circ/Sex/Dog section of the U.S. chart, and yes he was born in the Year of the Dog, and he had sexual proclivities. Coming up, the next presidency will reflect the Ox/Liver tendencies. The Ox has someone to take care of him, or he wants to be sure others are taken care of, much as FDR initiated The New Deal. The Ox carries the yoke on his shoulders and can 'shoulder' a great load. The Ox energy would take care of Social Security and Medicare and make sure the people are taken care of. So, the next president will be?........who does it remind you of? Well, Obama was borrn in 1961, in the Year of the Ox if that has any bearing. He also has Aquarius rising with this new birthtime we have now. We shall see..................... P.S. - 10/9/08 - Interesting.....there are articles coming out now connecting Obama to FDR and "The New Deal". Pamela Leigh Powers, copyright 2008, all rights reserved |
